WHHAT: Choose Your Own Remix
Bringing back mp3s with a custom remix generator + celebrating some personal success
This week I’m sharing a song remix/re-arranger website as well as a huge personal win!
Mama We Made It!
Last month I shared a new “timeline” view of my Star Line Gallery website on the Chance the Rapper subreddit. Despite not many folks seeing the post, it found its way to Chance the Rapper himself!
Chance shared my Instagram Reel on his story last week on Halloween with the caption “Shout out to @alejvpro_ for this 🔥🔥 website”.
I archived his Instagram Story here and honestly my main reaction continues to be 🤯🤯🤯. I’ll try to come up with more words when I do my technical break down of the site later. Thank you to everyone who views, shares, and supports my sites! 😵😵😵.
Problem Solver
On to the main course, last month New York rapper Cash Cobain promoted his latest single “Problem” with a custom MP3 generator:
The concept is straight-forward – just see the screenshot or checkout the site itself – yet I’ve never heard of it being done before.
We really could have used it on The Game’s 2006 11 minute long, 24-rapper “One Blood” remix, which was long enough to earn a retrospective from Vice 😂.
It also reminds me of a much more fun version of the “dynamic ad insertion” you’ve likely encountered in podcasts. (More info on “DAI” here if that interests you).
…
Shout out to my friend who showed me the site via this tweet from Audiomack co-founder Brian Zisook:
Wrap Up
Thanks for reading!
For future reference, I’m now cataloging this and past sites I’ve found on my home page: alej.hiphop.
Also, just for fun, this week’s DJ Khaled gif won a tough competition against Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and… cats.
Peace! ✌🏽
